Essie A List

My boyfriend is really the sweetest boyfriend ever. On Valentine’s day, he came home with two Essie nail polish from their vintage collection, a red and a pink, saying that with those I could do a Valentine’s day themed mani. Sweet, right ? Unfortunately, as I am a polish addict, I already had the red one (you’ll see them all on the blog soon :-) ) So last sunday, I went to the store with him to take back the polish that I already had, and he choose Essie A list for me to pick up. It was the Oscars 2016 last sunday, so Essie A list was a perfect fit. It’s a beautiful red carpet red, classic and classy. If you are a classic nail polish kind of girl, this is for you !

The formula on this one was beautiful. I did two coats, but if you want you might be able to get away with one thick coat. It dried quickly, and it was easy to work with, self leveling and all. My only beef with this formula is that it’s on the thin side, so my cuticles were pooled, and it was hard to do a good clean up job after that, as you can see on my middle finger. Those pictures are with top coat, but it was really glossy without it so if you don’t want to use one, you definitively can!

On those pictures you can see a visible nail line, a VNL, but it fact it does not really have one in real life. The color is on the blue, cherry side, and it does look pretty good on my nails I think ! If you are looking for a true cherry red, this one might be for you !
